Sweet Khichdi


Sweet Khichdi..U ppl know khichdi as a popular breakfast..But in my native, especially among Muslims, this traditional sweet pudding is known as khichdi..U can find several recipes for the keyword 'Sweet Khichdi', but this one is entirely different from those..We make it during Ramadan and on special occasions..The best part is it is very healthy, and it tastes soo creamy and yummmmm!! I m so happy to share it here..

Paalaada


Today I m posting a popular tasty breakfast among Muslims of my native, and Kerala as well. Made so commonly in our homes, and during special occasions too..It's speciality is it is very very soft, and even kids can eat more in less time!! One of my favourites 😋..

Poori is a favourite for almost every kid..Y not to embed veggies in it? I usually make colourful beetroot pooris for my kid, n I hav added yellow pumpkin this tym..Turned out so yumm..Having it with a chana masala or aloo masala will be a fantastic combo!!

Coriander thovaiyal


Easy home style thovaiyal(dry chutney) rcp which many of u might know already..Goes well with rice based porridges, especially the dryginger porridge, n almost any rice varieties, accompanied with jus a boiled egg..

Sorbets r a very gud alternative for Icecreams when u want to eat something chilled, but with very less calories.. To make it even more healthier, I hav used honey instead of sugar, n so definitely people of any age can eat this nocook tasty treat without any guilt..Soo colourful when u make it with strawberries!!

Vegetable White Kurma


A variation of Veg Kurma, less spicy n easy to make, n tastes greatt with hot chapati n parotta..I usually prefer white kurma than the normal ones while eating in restaurants, not because it's less spicy, but I like its taste very much..

Potato Stir Fry


POTATO..The name itself makes us hungry 😜..This rcp is the one which I make often as a side for rice on lazy days , ofcourse I do change the ingredients n qty of masala every time, but the taste is awesome always!!Great accompaniment for a simple lunch!!

Mutton Curry with freshly dry roasted and ground (varutharacha) coconut masala..A good one when u want to try something traditional..The coconut when dryroasted with the spices gives an excellent flavour and aroma. Goes well with Indian breads..

Yellow Pumpkin Dal Kootu(பறங்கிக்காய் பருப்பு கூட்டு)..I hav never tasted pumpkin in my home since my childhood, except in restaurants..But knowing its health benefits, I hav been including in the form of purees and juices for my kid..Eager to feel its taste, I cooked it for the first tym with Dal and our basic thoran masala..Wow..Now pumpkin too has been included in my favourite veggies list..😋

Again I m here with a leftover rcp..U can say this as a preserve as well..A jam made with leftover overripen nendran banana(Kerala banana)...A healthy accompaniment for ur little ones for breads, buns etc..Even adults can enjoy it!

Fruit Kesari


Rava Kesari made exclusively with fruits!! No sugar/jaggery/palm sugar or any form of sweetener was added! The trick is, right fruits were chosen in right quantity and believe me, u couldn't find out that sugar is omitted.. Even after 2 days of refrigeration, the taste was amazing..I would call this rcp as one of my best experiments..

Pollachi Chicken


A mild spicy semigravy, based on Pollachi style..Found this easy greeny coriander-based gravy when I was looking for some gravies with chicken on one fine day..Since it uses shallots, it has some different tangy taste as well..Too good with rice n tiffins..

Mutta Surka


Mutta surka is a popular tea time snack in Kanyakumari district..It is a kuzhipaniyaram variety. Usually we make this with rice flour. I have made a small difference in this rcp by making it with left over rice roti(we call it as oratti) dough..Tasted great with a cup of tea!!

Ghee Rice


Ghee rice is my alltym fav..With mutton/beef curry n other accompaniments, it tastes yummm.😋 I love ghee rice more than biriyani coz it is less oily and so u can eat more..We make this usually during Sundays and on special occasions..It is a kinda nofail recipe..

Dal Idli


Idli without rice!!..This is trending nowadays!! Idli is an excellent tiffin which you cant avoid in southindian breakfast..People getting bored with the usual rice idlis/rava idlis, this is gud enough to please u guys..Very very soft, fluffy, healthy, very easy to make, n ofcourse it is so delicious! Made it for the first tym n I m so glad about the results..

Coconut Jaggery Ladoo


When u r craving for some easy-to-make sweet, but healthy as well, this one is perfect. Coconut, when added to burfi, or any sweets is my favourite. The crunchiness of coconut is what makes me love it. And it was too good, n got over within minutes..
