Had a thought to apply egg drop and prawns in the same rcp for the day's lunch, since I love egg drop curries a lot..And tried this simplest ever rcp which even a beginner can do in no time..prawns+egg!! No need to describe the taste I guess..A must try one..
-------------------------------------------
Preparation Time: 15 mins
Cooking Time: <10 mins
Serves: 2 - 3 persons
-------------------------------------------
INGREDIENTS: [1 cup=240 ml]
-------------------------------------------
Prawns - 1 cup
Egg - 4
Onion - 1/2
Tomato puree - from 2 small or 1 big tomato
Green chilli - 1
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
Red chilli powder - 1 1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Garam masala - 1 tsp
Salt - as req.
Water - as req.
Oil - as req.
Coriander leaves - a few
------------------
1. In a kadai, pour oil, add onion, green chillies, ginger garlic paste, tomato purée(just blend the tomatoes in a blender without water), everything one by one and saute well in between.
2. Add the chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and little water and allow the mix to boil for a few mins.
3. Now break the eggs directly on the gravy with required gaps between each of them in the kadai. Don't stir. Immediately close with a lid and cook for 2-3 mins.
4. When the bottom side of the eggs are cooked, that is, if you are able to remove the bottom of the egg without sticking to the kadai, carefully flip them to cook on the other side. Again close with a lid and cook for a minute.
5. Now add the prawns to the gravy without disturbing the eggs. Close the lid and cook for 5 mins.
6. When the prawns are perfectly cooked, add garam masala and lightly stir. Add coriander leaves and switch off the stove immediately. DONE!!
Your delicious egg drop-prawn curry is ready to be served with hot rice!!
NOTE:
------------------
1. I made this in a semigravy consistency. You can make a drier version too.
2. Make sure to remove the curry from flame at the right time, so that the eggs and prawns are not overcooked.
3. Use a spoon without sharp edges for cooking, so that the eggs don't break.
4. Once the eggs are added, simmer the flame and do the remaining process to avoid burning of eggs.
5. Adjust ingredients as per your taste.
6. You can do as many innovations as you can(like change of masala, adding more ingredients etc etc)with this basic recipe.
