Cheesy Garlic Buns


If u lov garlic, then don't delay to try this quick, flavorful rcp..Crispy outside n very soft inside..Usually it is made with bread, but I made this with some leftover bakery buns..And the taste was outstanding..

Usually, I dont make the fast foods often, since I m somewhat health conscious. And this recipe has a lott of cheese n butter in it. Even a single piece has high calories. But, anything once in a while is no harm ryt..So, tried this today n with no doubt, the dish was so good.


RECIPE:

Preparation Time: 5 mins
Cooking Time: 15 mins
Serves: 4 pieces

INGREDIENTS: [1 cup=240 ml]  
------------------------------------------
Bakery Buns - 2
Cheddar cheese(grated) - 1/2 cup
Unsalted butter - 3 tbsp(softened)
Pepper powder - 1 tsp
Garlic cloves - 4 to 6(big size)
Salt(optional) - a pinch


METHOD:

1. Slice the buns horizontally from the centre into equal halves to get 4 slices in total. Peel and crush the garlic with a stone.


2. In a bowl, mix the remaining ingredients into a fine paste.


3. Apply the mix on the top of each bun slice. 


4. Meanwhile, take an iron dosa tawa and preheat it in simmer for 5 mins. Next keep a pan on the iron tawa, place the bun slices on the pan, close it with a lid, and keep a weight on the lid. In short, dum-cook the bun slices for 10 mins.


5. Remove and transfer to a plate. DONE!!

Your tasty Cheesy Garlic Buns are ready to be served with hot soup/tea/coffee!!


NOTE:

1. You can even bake the buns in an oven.
2. You can also do this without dumcook, and cook directly on the pan, but I recommend this way. Since, in pan cooking, the bottom gets crisp too faster and you have to remove it soon, but dumcook gives more time for the garlic mixture to get absorbed by the buns.
3. You can use additional ingredients like Italian herbs, coriander leaves, red chilli flakes etc.
4. Use salt only if your cheese is less salty. 
5. Adjust the ingredients as per your taste.
