------------------------------------------
Preparation Time: 5 mins
Cooking Time: 20 mins
Serves: 8 pieces(approx.)
------------------------------------------
INGREDIENTS: [1 cup=240 ml]
------------------------------------------
Vermicelli - 1 1/4 cup
Milk - 500 ml
Custard powder - 1 tsp
Cardamom(crushed) - 2
Sugar - 4 tbsp or as req.
Nendran Banana - 1
Ghee - 1 tbsp
Cashews - a few
METHOD:
-----------------
1. First, in a nonstick kadai, pour the ghee and roast the cashews, vermicelli and chopped/sliced banana all of them separately, remove and set them aside.
2. Now in the kadai, pour 1.5 cups of milk(I used boiled, u can use without boiling too), now add 2 tbsp or required sugar, stir well. Simultaneously, dissolve a tsp of custard powder in 1/4 cup milk and add this to the kadai, and keep on stirring to avoid lumps.
3. Next add the vermicelli, and cook for a few mins without stopping the stirring. When the mix is thickened, add crushed cardamom and switch off the stove.
4. Now, in a greased plate, pour the vermicelli mix as one layer, add the banana and cashews as the 2nd layer, and again pour the vermicelli mix as the final layer. Allow the mix to come at room temperature. You can even refrigerate for some time after that. Slice into desired shapes before serving.
5. Now prepare the custard sauce. In the kadai, pour 1/3 cup milk and add 2 tbsp or required sugar, and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Simultaneously, dissolve a tsp of custard powder in 1/3 cup milk and add this to the kadai. Keep on stirring until you get a slightly sauce like consistency. Be careful not to make it too thick, since the mix will actually get thicker when time goes on. Switch off the stove and allow it to come at room temperature.
6. Finally, in a plate, arrange the vermicelli pieces, pour some custard sauce over them, and sprinkle some pomegranate seeds and serve chilled or warm.
NOTE:
-----------------
1. You can use any vermicelli, I used thin vermicelli.
2. Garnish with your desired fruits.
