Barnyard Millet(Kuthiraivali) Idiyappam

Barnyard Millet Idiyappam..Idiyappam made with homemade barnyard millet(குதிரைவாலி) flour..Very tasty and healthy obviously because of the millets..You could feel only little changes in the taste when compared to the rice flour idiyappam..I made this with some leftover barnyard millets, which are getting expired soon..Saw this recipe from the handbook got along with the millets..Since then I wanted to try it, and finally did it today..Since I made this with leftover millets, I made the idiyapam in a very small quantity enough for jus a plate of serving..Anyways it was worth trying..

MultimilletRava Mango Kesari

So, the Ramadan for this year has begun successfully, Alhamdulillah :)..Hope u ppl r spending ur precious times on special prayers, fasting, n of course cooking varieties of rcps for ur loved ones at home..You will be seeing a few special recipes in the blog coming soon, which will be really helpful for Ramadan frnz..I hav started the series with a sweet, particularly a healthy sweet, which u can serve after dinner, just like I did, on the first day of Ramadan :)

Multimillet Rava

MultiMillet Rava..The name itself describes the recipe..With mixed millets, we are gonna create rava..Many of u might have tried multimillet flour at home..But I m not sure how many have made rava with it..Its not a big thing..Just stop blending a few minutes before a flour is obtained, and there u are..Sounds simple ryt? So what is the use of this rava? We can use it as an alternate for the regular sooji!! That sounds great na..Millets Rava is a much healthier option than sooji, which is nothing but a granular form of maida..

Barnyard Millet(Kuthiraivali) Soup

Barnyard Millet Soup..Barnyard Millet(Kuthiraivali/Jhangora/Odalu) is also a popular millet, which is gluten-free like other millets, and is known to be a good source of iron too as per studies. This is the first time I am making soup with kuthiraivali millet, even though I have made some other dishes with it. The soup came out hot n very tasty.. I can hear your mind voice, "soup for this summer huh?" lol :)

Sorghum Idli

Sorghum Idli..Idli made with Sorghum(cholam/chaara/jonna/)millet..Soft n fluffy idlies..Tastes great n very healthy one..Ofcourse the color may not be appealing, coz the sorghum millet gives a dull color to the idlis, but believe me it is yummy..I am making it for the 2nd time inspired by its taste..Must try one frnz..If your family members hate the color of the idlis, just close their eyes n make them eat..lol :)..But I m happy with my little one, coz she ate with her eyes open n told me, ''maa it is super''..what more do I want? :)
