Sesame Flaxseed Smoothie


A completely healthy smoothie with minimal ingredients..Best for any aged people..Sesame is rich in calcium, and flaxseeds are a great source of omega3 which is mostly found in fish, when combined with milk and red banana gives a great source of energy and nutrients..Must try Rcp..


RECIPE:

Preparation Time: 5 mins
Cooking Time: 5 mins
Serves: 1 cup

INGREDIENTS: [1 cup=240 ml]     
-----------------------------------------
Boiled Milk - 3/4 to 1 cup
Red Banana(செவ்வாழைப்பழம்) - 1
Black Sesame seeds - 2 tsp
Flaxseed powder - 1.5 tsp
Honey(optional) - as req.


METHOD:
------------------
1. Soak the sesame seeds in little water for 5 to 10 mins. The sesame will release its color in the water. Drain the water, and set aside. We dont need it for this rcp. The soaked seeds are only essential.


2. In a blender, add the soaked sesame seeds, red banana, flaxseed powder, and 1/4 cup milk and pulse for a few seconds till the sesame is well ground.


3. Add the blended mix to the remaining milk, and mix well with a spoon. Add honey only if required, since the sweetness of red banana is more than enough.


4. Serve in a cup with some sprinkled sesame seeds on top. DONE!!

Your super healthy sesame flaxseed smoothie is ready to be served!!


NOTE:

1. Don't waste the nutritious strained sesame water. You can use it in making chapati dough. I just drank it as it is because it was not bitter..😜
2. You can use any type of banana. In that case, adjust honey as per your taste.
3. To make flaxseed powder, just dry roast the flaxseeds till an aroma rises, and powder it. You can store this in an airtight container in a refrigerator for several months, and can be used for a lot of recipes. Stay tuned for more flaxseed recipes here.
