Raw Banana Powder Ladoo

Raw Banana Powder(ஏத்தங்காய்ப்பொடி) is one of the first foods given to a baby after 6 months, in Southern TamilNadu and Kerala..Popularly known for its various health benefits and weight gain among  babies/toddlers/kids..Usually we make porridges with this powder for babies, or just add to cows milk for toddlers and serve..This is another simple rcp for 1 year+ kids..

RECIPE:
-----------------------------------------
Preparation Time: < 10 mins
Cooking Time: 2 mins
Serves: 10 no's (approx.)
-----------------------------------------
INGREDIENTS: [1 cup=240 ml]
-----------------------------------------
Raw Banana Powder - 1 cup
Jaggery crushed - 1/2 cup
Water - 1/3 cup
Honey - 1 tbsp
Cardamom crushed - 3
Grated coconut - 3 tbsp
Ghee - for greasing your hands

METHOD:
--------------------
1. First, in a bowl, mix the dry ingredients - raw banana powder, coconut, and cardamom with a spoon.

2. Next, boil the jaggery and water, till the jaggery is completely dissolved. Strain and set aside.

3. Now, add honey to the bowl. Next, add the strained jaggery syrup to the bowl little by little and mix well until you get a dough like consistency to form laddoos. Using the entire jaggery syrup is not necessary, stop once the desired consistency is reached.

4. When the mixture is still warm, form laddoos with your greased hands. Done!!

Your healthy raw banana powder laddoos are ready to be served!!

NOTE:
---------------
1. To make raw banana powder, first dry the Kerala bananas in sun till they become crisp. Next powder them and store. If you are buying the readymade ones, make sure to buy the best quality for your toddlers.

2. If you want more sweetness, add less water while preparing the  jaggery syrup, so that you can use the entire syrup for the laddoos. You can even adjust honey as per your taste.

3. This will stay good for 5-6 days when stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
