Pineapple Capsicum Chutney


Pineapple Capsicum Chutney..The name itself sounds quite different ryt? Capsicum chutney is a common recipe and u might be familiar with it, but adding pineapple with it is something uncommon..I experimented it with some leftover pineapple pieces and leftover capsicum, and the experimentation with the combined leftovers was successful..Since pineapple is added, u can feel the sweetness and sour taste along with the spiciness given by the other ingredients..You can have it with Idli, Dosa, Bread, Chapati etc..Especially kids will lov it..For elders, u can add more spiciness as required..A must try recipe with pineapples..

Therachi Masala..A simple but very tasty masala curry made with Stingray fish(Therachi/Thirukkai/Thirandi)..The recipe is a basic masala curry, but the addition of therachi fish is wat makes it special..Therachi is one of my all tym favourite seafood, jus lyk prawns..In our home, we usually make masala or simple varutharacha curry(dry roasted and ground coconut gravy) with this therachi fish..The fish is structured as many layers, and it doesn't hav very sharp bones lyk other fishes, but a different kind of soft bones..Actually they are not called bones, but cartilages, thatswat studies say..Whatever it is, it is  nutritious and very tasty..Wat else do we need, ryt? Drumstick Rasam(முருங்கைக்காய் ரசம்)..A SouthIndian style Rasam with Drumstick and Dal as the main ingredients..Many of u will be familiar with drumstick leaves(முருங்கைக்கீரை) rasam, but with drumstick, definitely it's going to be a different tasted rasam, and since it's not spicy with green chilli or ginger, and only whole pepper is the spicy agent here, u can serve generously for kids too..My kid had a few ladles of it for lunch today and she ate it without any complaints about its spiciness, n she loved it..The drumstick I used today was so tender n fresh n it tempted me actually to make the recipe today itself..Just a simple side dish is enough along with this rasam for hot rice..Now, let's move on to the recipe..

Barnyard Millet Idiyappam..Idiyappam made with homemade barnyard millet(குதிரைவாலி) flour..Very tasty and healthy obviously because of the millets..You could feel only little changes in the taste when compared to the rice flour idiyappam..I made this with some leftover barnyard millets, which are getting expired soon..Saw this recipe from the handbook got along with the millets..Since then I wanted to try it, and finally did it today..Since I made this with leftover millets, I made the idiyapam in a very small quantity enough for jus a plate of serving..Anyways it was worth trying..

Flaxseed Missi Roti..A variation of the North Indian Missi Roti..Missi Roti is one of the tasty and popular bread varieties of  the NorthIndian cuisine. I tried missi roti for the first time several months back, and that too with oats following the handbook recipe of Quaker Oats. Thatswhen I came to know about the missi roti name. It was too good even without much spices. So I thought why not to implement the same with flaxseed powder. Tried with my own choice of ingredients and measurements. I should really say, the taste was simply superb!! This is particularly useful when u don't want to make gravies or side dishes. Just make the roti, serve with some yogurt/pickle/butter, and your meal is ready!!

Meal Maker Pulao..A pulao made in pressure cooker with meal maker(soya chunks) as the main ingredient..Tried the recipe on the last Sunday with some side dishes..I saw this recipe an year back in an app..It was made of chicken and named as Chicken Biriyani..I hav tried the same rcp with chicken the previous time..Satisfied with the results, I used Meal Maker this time, and it turned out pretty good..Since coconut milk is used in the recipe, I thought to use the name Pulao for the recipe..Ofcourse certain biriyani uses coconut milk as well..But I am ok with this..Pulao or biriyani, who cares about the name ryt? We care only about the taste, and so no more explanations 😂😂..

Chocolate Maa Ladoo..A twist to the usual Maa Ladoo(பொரிகடலை உருண்டை) recipe with chocolate flavour and sugar free!! My last recipe was Cumin-RoastedGram Milk..When I made roastedgram powder for that, I thought to make one more recipe with the powder, since it is very healthy and good for growing kids..So the Maa Ladoo recipe was in my mind yesterday, but I thought of improvising it..My first idea was to make it sugar free, since a lot of powdered sugar is usually used in the recipe..Also, the cocoa powder gives a nice chocolate flavour, usually loved by the kids..So I implemented them, and the final result was too good, and the best part is you need just 5 mins to make this delicious recipe..Thats great na!!

Cumin - Roasted Gram(பொரிகடலை/Bhuna chana) Milk For Toddlers and Kids..A very good alternative for the usual Badam milk, dryfruits milk etc..The cumin seeds is the main ingredient of the recipe which gives an excellent flavour to the milk, and helps in digestion as well..Usually I add cardamom, clove or sometimes even cinnamon too to the milk for the digestion purpose, and now cumin is one more in the list..Adding roasted gram is an additional ingredient to provide extra nutrition..A must try Rcp for toddlers and kids, dear mommies..

So what is the use of this rava? We can use it as an alternate for the regular sooji!! Sorghum Idli..Idli made with Sorghum(cholam/chaara/jonna/)millet..Soft n fluffy idlies..Tastes great n very healthy one..Ofcourse the color may not be appealing, coz the sorghum millet gives a dull color to the idlis, but believe me it is yummy..I am making it for the 2nd time inspired by its taste..Must try one frnz..If your family members hate the color of the idlis, just close their eyes n make them eat..lol :)..But I m happy with my little one, coz she ate with her eyes open n told me, ''maa it is super''..what more do I want? :)

Cake Shake


Cake Shake..Milkshake made with leftover cake, and a few more ingredients..Finally I got some courage today to turn on my PC, after the 'ransomware' threats :).. 10 days back, my kid turned 3 yrs old, Alhamdulillah! So, I made a mini feast for the lunch. Gulab Jamun, and Custard-cornflour sponge cake which I found from the internet, were also in my menu, and I made them the previous day itself. Everything was very tasty, n my kid too loved it a lot.

Watermelon Curd Pachadi


Curd pachadi made with watermelon rind. Pachadi is an important side in southindian veg thali. You can make varieties of pachadi, but the standard ones you see in restaurants or wedding ceremonies are the cucumber pachadi and beetroot pachadi. I love veggies a lott, especially the veg thali, n pachadi is my fav too.

Strawberry Rava Idli


Strawberry Rava Idli..A sweeter version of rava idli made with strawberries!! The strawberry season was already over, but luckily found a single pack while shopping. So, I used it to make this kids special rcp. An year back, I tried the same rcp with mangoes, which I found from the internet. It was too good n I thought of making it with strawberries this time.

Coconut Flour Biscuit Cake


Coconut Flour Biscuit Cake..The name sounds quite different right? But I made it just with some leftovers as the main ingredients. A packet of biscuits, homemade coconut flour, and homemade breadcrumbs were in my storage for a couple of months. A week back, a sudden idea came to my mind, why not to mix all of them n create a new recipe? So, a cake was the decision I took finally.

I started this before a couple of years, and till date I have been baking cakes, puddings in pressure cooker, and everything came out successful. You wont see any difference between the oven-baked stuffs and the pressure-cooker-based ones.
