Meal Maker Pulao..A pulao made in pressure cooker with meal maker(soya chunks) as the main ingredient..Tried the recipe on the last Sunday with some side dishes..I saw this recipe an year back in an app..It was made of chicken and named as Chicken Biriyani..I hav tried the same rcp with chicken the previous time..Satisfied with the results, I used Meal Maker this time, and it turned out pretty good..Since coconut milk is used in the recipe, I thought to use the name Pulao for the recipe..Ofcourse certain biriyani uses coconut milk as well..But I am ok with this..Pulao or biriyani, who cares about the name ryt? We care only about the taste, and so no more explanations 😂😂..

Preparation Time: 20 mins
Cooking Time: 30-40 mins
Serves: 4 persons
-----------------------------------------------
INGREDIENTS: [1 cup=240 ml]
-----------------------------------------------
Meal Maker(cooked) - 2 cups
Basmati Rice - 1.5 cups
Coconut Milk - 1.5 cups
Water - 1.5 cups
Onion - 1 big
Tomato - 1 big
Green chilli - 5
Red chilli powder - 3/4 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/3 tsp
Oil - 2 tbsp or as req.
Ghee - 1.5 tsp or as req.
Pandan leaves(à®°à®®்பை இலை) - 1 long(chopped lengthwise)
Cardamom - 2
Cloves - 3
Cinnamon stick - 2 small
Star anise(optional) - 1
Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp heaped
Lemon - 1/4
Curd - 2 tbsp
Salt - as req.
METHOD:
---------------------
1. In a pressure cooker, pour oil, add the pandan leaves, star anise, crushed cardamom, cloves, cinnamon stick everything one by one and saute in between.
2. Add the onion, and saute well till translucent. Next, add the green chilli, ginger garlic paste, and saute well till the raw smell goes. Now, add the tomatoes and saute till they become mushy. Add the red chilli powder and turmeric powder, and saute well in simmer to remove the raw smell without burning.
3. Now it's time to add the cooked meal maker. To know how to cook the meal maker, refer my Soya Chunks Falafel recipe(Step2). Mix well after adding it. Now add Curd, and again mix well.
4. Add the cleaned basmati rice at this stage, and mix well with the spatula. Pour in the coconut milk and water together, add salt, pour in the lemon juice, and finally add the ghee. Mix very well in between.
5. It's time to close the lid now, and pressure cook for 3 whistles. After the pressure is released, open the lid, and gently mix with the spatula to spread the Mealmaker evenly in the rice. That's it!!
Your yummy and easy Meal Maker Pulao is ready to be served!!Njjoy with some favourite sides of your choice!!
NOTE:
------------
1. Instead of Pandan leaves, you can also use some mint and coriander leaves before step 5. But, Pandan leaves give an extraordinary flavour. So, I recommend it.
2. You can also do open cooking in a kadai. But it takes a little more time.
