It's a simple task..You can make a bowl of chips out of a single banana in jus 15 mins..Sounds easy ryt? Let's move on to the rcp..
-----------------------------------------------
Preparation Time: 5 mins
Cooking Time: 10-12 mins
Serves: 2 persons
-----------------------------------------------
INGREDIENTS: [1 cup=240 ml]
-----------------------------------------------
Raw Nendran Banana - 1 large
Turmeric powder - 1/3 tsp
Salt - 1/3 tsp + for sprinkling(optional)
Pepper powder - for sprinkling(optional)
Water - less than 1/4 cup
Coconut oil - for frying
------------------
1. Peel the raw banana with a knife, making less hand contact with the inside portion of the banana to avoid them from becoming black. Slice them thinly with the knife/grater and keep it on a plate.
2. In a small bowl, add the turmeric powder, 1/3 tsp salt, water, and mix them very well. Keep it aside.
3. Add the banana slices in hot oil and start frying in low to medium flame. Keep on stirring occasionally, and after a minute, add half of the turmeric water to the oil, and fry the banana till crisp. To check for crispiness, take a slice and break it. If perfect, carefully remove the banana slices and transfer to a strainer/tissue to remove the excess oil.
4. After a minute, transfer them to a bowl, sprinkle the pepper powder and salt while the chips are hot, and mix very well.
5. Fry the next batch of banana slices with the remaining turmeric water added to the hot oil. Remove and mix well with salt and pepper. That's it!! Store in an airtight container and serve..
Your super yummy n crispy nendran banana chips is ready to be served!!Njjoy!!
NOTE:
-------------
1. Using grater will give you extremely thin slices, which I don't prefer often. I feel, knife will help to get slices with perfect thickness. You can try either of the ways as per your wish.
2. If you are skipping the sprinkling of salt and pepper step at last , then adjust salt in the turmeric water.
3. For small batches like this to prepare at home, coconut oil is better. If you want to make more quantity and store for long, use groundnut oil.
4. Choosing good quality of nendran banana is very essential to get the perfect taste.
5. This stays good for a few weeks when stored in an airtight container.
