Tapioca Smoothie


Hi frnz..And here I m with a simple, tasty n healthy smoothie recipe..It's TAPIOCA SMOOTHIE..Tapioca also called as Maracheeni Kizhangu, Maravalli Kizhangu, Kappa kizhangu is one of my all tym favourites..And mostly we used to make only savoury recipes with it..Thought of making it sweet this tym n a filling n refreshing Smoothie is wat came into my mind..So tried it n we were really happy with the outcome after tasting it..Unless it is told, I bet u can't identify that Tapioca is added in the Smoothie..Definitely a must try recipe frnz..Come on, let's see how to do it..

RECIPE:

Preparation Time: 10 mins
Cooking Time: 50 mins
Serves: 2-3 persons
------------------------------------------
INGREDIENTS: [1 cup=250 ml]
------------------------------------------
Tapioca - 1 
Milk - 500 ml (2 cups)
Jaggery - 4 tbsp
Water - 500 to 750 ml

For garnishing:
Brown sugar
Crushed Cashews

WATCH HOW TO MAKE THE RECIPE:


METHOD:
---------------
1. In a vessel, boil the water, and add the chopped and washed tapioca pieces. Close with a lid, and cook in high flame for about 45 mins or until the tapioca is very well cooked and becomes soft.
2. Meanwhile, boil the milk and allow it to cool. 
3. Now, in a blender, add 1 cup of the tapioca pieces, 1 cup of milk, jaggery, and grind well until the tapioca is well ground.
4. Add little milk and pulse a few times. Repeat this step until the whole milk is used. Test for sweetness too.
5. When the perfect consistency is reached, pour the smoothie into the serving glasses, and garnish with brown sugar and crushed cashews. That's it!!

Your super delicious n healthy Tapioca Smoothie is ready to be served!! Njjoy!!


NOTE:
-----------
1. Instead of jaggery, you can also add brown sugar/ honey.
2. You can also add soaked dates/banana for sweetness. But it will make the Smoothie an even more heavy food. So I made it simple.
3. Tapioca can be replaced with potato/sweet potato.
4. Milk can be replaced with coconut milk.
5. Dried seeds like sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, cucumber seeds too can be used for any garnishing.
