Urad dal Milk / Uluntham Paal / Ulutham Paal

 

 


Hi all..I m back with yet another healthy recipe, but a drink at this time especially a milk based drink recipe..It's URAD DAL MILK / ULUNTHAM PAAL / ULUTHAM PAAL..Uluntham Paal recipe is very healthy for all ages, particularly growing kids and teenage girls..Urad Dal is a rich source of iron, and if you are bored of tiffins, have this drink as breakfast and u will feel a fulfilled tummy n it takes atleast a few hrs for the next hunger..The best part is, u won't identify that urad dal is added to the milk n honestly it is very yummy..

Urad dal Milk is usually made with boiled white urad dal..I have simplified the preparation process n it's damn easy to make it..Now, let's see how to do it..




RECIPE:

Preparation Time:  2 mins

Cooking Time:  <10 mins

Serves: 1 person

INGREDIENTS: [1 cup=250 ml]

-----------------------------------------------------------

Desi cow milk - 1 cup

White urad dal flour - 4 tsp (Click here for recipe)

Honey - 1 tbsp or as required

Crushed Cardamom - 1

Crushed Pistachios - 6 to 7 

Water - 1 cup


WATCH HOW TO MAKE THE RECIPE:   .


METHOD:

----------------

1. Heat the milk in simmer in a vessel. Need not boil.

2. Dissolve the urad dal flour in water and add the mix to the heated milk little by little. Keep on stirring for 2-4 mins to avoid lumps.

3. Add the crushed cardamom, and switch off the stove after 1 min.

4. When the mix becomes warm, add the honey and mix well.

5. Pour the warm milk in a tall glass. Top with pistachios. Serve immediately.That's it!!

Your super healthy n yummy Ulundham Paal is ready!!  Njjoyy as a breakfast/health drink!!




NOTE:

---------- 

1.Any nuts can be added instead of pistachios.

2. To make the drink more colorful, natural food color can be added. 

3. Any sweetener like dates syrup/jaggery/palm jaggery can be added instead of honey. If you are adding jaggery/palm jaggery, be careful to add them when the milk is very warm, else the milk will curdle.
