Lockdown Herbal Chutney (2 methods)


Hi all..So I m here with a special Chutney recipe, which is a real healthy one for sure..I named it as lockdown chutney since the ingredients used in the recipe r very essential in curing mucus, sinusitis etc., and protect us from the pandemic in this lockdown situation..Also, I have given 2 methods with slight variations between the two, n both came out so good..So, try this Herbal Chutney atleast once in a week and lets save ourselves!! Now, let's see how to make it..


RECIPE:

Preparation Time: 5+5 mins
Cooking Time: 1/2 minute
Serves: 4+4 persons

INGREDIENTS: [1 cup=220 ml]
-------------------------------------------
Method1:
Grated Coconut - 1 handful
Tulsi(basil) leaves - 1/4 cup approx.
Omavalli/karpooravalli/ajwain leaves - 5
Tamarind - gooseberry size(cooked in direct flame)
Green chilli - 5(small size)
Pepper - 1 tsp heaped
Salt - as req.
Water - as req.

Method 2:
Grated Coconut - 1 handful
Pottukadalai(roasted gram dal) - 1 tbsp
Tulsi(basil) leaves - 1/4 cup approx.
Omavalli/karpooravalli/ajwain leaves - 4
Green chilli - 4(small size)
Pepper - 3 tsp heaped
Salt - as req.
Water - as req.

For tempering:
Coconut oil - 3 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 2 tsp
Curry leaves - 1 handful
Dried red chilli - 3(torn into small pieces)

METHOD:

1. Just grind everything to a smooth paste by adding water little by little for both the methods, and transfer them into 2 separate bowls.

2. In a pan, temper with the 'For tempering' ingredients, and pour into both the bowls evenly. That's it!!

NOTE:

1. Method1 Chutney suits for both rice and tiffins. Method2 suits for tiffins mostly, but you can serve it with rice too.

2. Adjust the ingredients as per your taste.
