Butter Prawn Masala

Butter Prawn Masala..A simple yet flavourful n so delicious Prawn Masala with Butter n many more ingredients,.Tastes great with Roti, naan, variety rices, n for almost any tiffins..Prawn is a favourite seafood for most of us including me..When I thought to post a gravy recipe for iftar tiffins in this Ramadan series,  prawns is the one which first came into my mind..And my choice was to make it in a similar fashion like butter chicken..This recipe is almost similar in taste to the one which is made in restaurant style, n hence don't miss this recipe when u hav prawns in hand..Lets see how to make it..

RECIPE:
---------------------------------------------
Preparation Time: 45 mins
Cooking Time: < 15 mins
Resting Time: Max 2.30 hrs
Serves: 4
----------------------------------------------
INGREDIENTS: [1 cup=250 ml]
----------------------------------------------
Cleaned Prawns - 1 cup
Onion - 2(small size, sliced or ground)
Tomato - 1
Almonds - 5
Red chilli powder - 1.5 tsp
Coriander powder - 1.5 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
Salt - as req.
Curd - 1/2 cup
Coriander leaves - a few
Lemon - 1(small size)
Cinnamon stick - a small piece
Cloves - 3
Whole pepper - 1/2 to 1 tsp
Brinji leaves(optional) - 1
Cardamom - 2
Unsalted butter - 50 gm
Oil - 1 tbsp

METHOD:
---------------
1. Marinate the prawns with squeezed lemon, salt, and red chilli powder. Keep aside for atleast 30 mins.

2. Powder the cinnamon stick, cloves, cardamom, whole pepper, brinji leaves(if using) together with the help of a mortar-pestle or blender.

3. In a bowl, pour the curd, add the ground powder, garam masala, coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, and mix well. Add this mix to the prawns and marinate again for atleast 30 mins to atmost 2 hrs.

4. Now, in a pan, pour the oil, add half of the butter, and add the sliced or ground onions, saute well until it becomes golden brown. Now, grind the tomato in a blender, add this to the kadai and saute for a couple of mins.

5. Add the marinated prawns and cook it in simmer for 5 mins.

6. Meanwhile, add the almonds to the hot boiling water, switch off the stove, and keep it closed for 5 mins. Then peel, and grind to a paste in a blender. When the prawns are cooked, add this almond paste, and water as per the desired consistency. Adjust salt if required.

7. Finally, add the remaining butter, switch off the stove and add the coriander leaves. Keep it closed for 5 mins and serve hot!! That's it!!

Your yummilicious Butter Prawn Masala is ready to be served!! Njjoy!!

NOTE:
----------
1. Though both sliced and ground onion is tasty, you can add ground onion if you wish to get the gravy more creamy like the ones served in restaurants.
2. After adding prawns, dont cook more than 7 to 8 minutes, since overcooking makes it rubbery.
3. You can use the same recipe with chicken/mutton/beef etc.
4. Adjust spices as per your taste.
